When you visit the new map display of crime statistics in the Montrose beat you will see a lot of red flags. Please
note that there is no differentiation between minor and major crimes.
Most crimes committed in June 2007 in all of Houston were related to burglary, theft of cars and the contents of cars. Violent
crime continued to go down, compared to June 2006. Rape went down almost 60% and murder more than 30%.
We can’t however emphasize enough for you to be vigilant; call 911 rather too often than too little, when you see dangerous activity or even when you see a
suspicious person; lock your cars and don’t leave anything in it that might attract thieves. Don’t walk alone late at night and avoid dark areas.
